My new found “Glee” for TV: Sue Sylvester is a comedy genius

Glee has taken over the country it seems at the moment. You can’t turn on a music channel without hearing the Glee cast’s catchy remakes of some pop classics, they even made it to number one with their version of Journey’s ‘Don’t stop Believing‘.

I have become an avid fan of the show, the music is uplifting, the humour is great but there is one person in particular I have fallen in love with, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch).

Glee's 'acid tongue' Sue Sylvester

Sue’s sharp tongue and wit have made her alone a reason to watch the show. She is constantly trying to sabotage the glee club, and just generally gets pleasure out of annoying people. What’s not to love about this addias wearing cheerleading coach? Yes she can be a tad offensive, yes she can be pure evil and downright deceiving but we have recently learnt she has a softer side too.

Here are some of her best quotes so far:

“I’ve been trying to destroy your club with a conviction I can only call religious…I don’t trust a man with curly hair. I can’t help picturing small birds laying sulphurous eggs in there and I find it disgusting”

Sue: “When you hear you hear your name, cross over to my side of this black shiny thing.”

Will: “It’s called a piano, Sue.”

“Even in battle I’m so elegant, regal…”

“This year I got a bit of an eyelift and while they were there I told them to go ahead and yank out those tear ducts. I wasn’t using them”

“And that’s how Sue C’s it”

Tune in to Glee to catch some more classic Sue, but if you can’t there are some entire websites dedicated to things Sue has said.
