Headbands have been filling the cat walks for some time now. Whether you are looking for a simple and elegant staple item for your wardrobe, or a more exaggerated and fun accessory there is one (or lots) out there for you, and some fabulous reduced goodies.
Here are some great high street bargains I have found which emulate the style of some of the most fashionable people of the moment.
The Preppy look
Blair Waldorf aka Leighton Meester is arguably the queen of the head band as well as being Queen Bee of the upper east side. If you are going for a more preppy or elegant look, there are some great finds out there, which won’t stretch the bank balance.
The key is cute, and intricate detailing. This Pearl headband (modelled by the beautiful Charlie Cusworth, a fellow communication expert) can be found in Primark for £1.50! It certainly looks and feels a lot more expensive than that. There are very similar styles at the moment in Miss Selfridge.
This lovely crocheted flower detailing includes sequins to add a bit of glamour, and will set you back £4 from Accessorize.
Lastly this little bow beauty is very Blair Waldorf and is currently at Primark for 50p! plus it comes with a gold version as well.
Flower Power is in full swing whether you want a big bright flower or small and discrete there is a wide range in high street shops for the spring season. Both these flower headbands are from Primark for £1.50-if that price doesn’t represent peace and love I don’t know what does.
Pixie Lott has worked this trend very well, and there are lots of versions to pick from, but if you are looking for some thing simple but effective why not try these. The Black platted head band is from H&M for £4 and the Grey satin headband is from Miss Selfridge and is 50p in the sale. Bargain!
Madonna set the tone in the 80’s with oversized bows, and these bad boys are no different. Double denim is a hot trend this year if you are brave enough to try it, so give it a go with this oversized denim bow from Primark again costing just 50p.
If you are looking for a more day time friendly look that doesn’t involve denim but still want to pay homage to the 80’s this purple headband is in Miss Selfridge for 50p.
Lady Gaga style certainly makes all eyes on her, but not all of us can pull off gem incrusted body suits, telephone hats and making a bow out of our own hair. However spending 50p in Primark for a metallic gold bow seems much more realistic, and even if you don’t want to parade it on the streets, you could always wear it in your bedroom while perfecting the dance moves to “Bad Romance“. No? Just me then?
